First published in the 17th century, this law of physics has changed the way we understand our universe: Sir Isaac Newton First Law of Motion that is. Simply put it states that an object in motion tends to stay in motion, unless an external force is applied to it, and conversely an object at rest tend to stay at rest. Works for falling apples, works for us humans.
In the physics of real life, this basic strategy applies to the minutia of your daily routine as well as to your grand life goals: THE 60 SECOND STRATEGY. If it takes 60 seconds to do it, do it NOW!
Not replying timely to your emails? Just reply to one email now
Not calling your network? Call one person now
Not writing for your blog? Write two sentences now
How such a simple strategy can affect your big goals? Once you start doing something, it’s easier to keep doing it. It’s not about performance or goal, it’s about constantly taking action. You’ll have plenty of time to improve. The key element is the process: it will turn itself into a habit without you even noticing! Before you know it, you will knock out that article in no time, nurture your circles like a champ and have replied to your emails before your second cup of coffee.
The system is more important than the goal. What’s something you can do that will take you less than 60 seconds? Do it NOW!
