Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays!

In our 15 years of experience accelerating businesses and providing them with the best talents and resources, we have learned quite a bit about entrepreneurs’ motivation and needs. Over this past year, we have worked even harder to share knowledge with as many of you as possible by posting important industry news and trends, in-depth business articles and more on our blog and social media pages. To further our mission of creating a better everyday life for more business owners and communities, we recently launched the Arizona Prosperity Initiative, which first pilot program was sponsored by the Business Resource and Innovation Center of the City of Tempe. The Arizona Prosperity Initiative is a collection of accelerator programs of different levels for established businesses to collaborate, mentor and raise local entrepreneurs who are creating tomorrow’s jobs. The next program, the Arizona Prosperity Initiative 10X (API10X) will be available first quarter of 2017. Stay tuned! We hope you will take advantage of these resources to grow as an entrepreneur and grow your company. We are in the midst of building additional programs and tools for you. If you feel there is anything else we could be doing that would be helpful or beneficial to you as a business owner, please reach out. We’d love to hear your story! We wish you and your family a happy holiday season! Steve Case’s Rise of the Rest Grand Finale in Phoenix (in case you missed it)

Phoenix was the final stop of the Steve Case’s Rise of the Rest startup tour. And what a grand finale, brilliantly hosted at The Duce! We heard fantastic pitches from the eight finalists: Ava School Solutions, CBL Worldwide II, Crowdmics, Hopscratch, MSDx, NeoLight, Reply Buy and SMART Brain Aging. Celebrating American Entrepreneurship, Steve Case, Chairman & CEO of Revolution and former Co-Founder & CEO of AOL, embarked on a 5 day tour to 5 cities, as  a nationwide effort to work closely with entrepreneurs in emerging startup ecosystems. Why Entrepreneurs Should Be Prepared to Survive a Contagious Zombie Outbreak

My first question to entrepreneurs is what makes their company different and I cannot tell you the number of times I hear: “We are an easy-to-use software with all the tools you need.” “We are a one-stop shop.” Nobody cares! That’s just the honest truth. It just means that compared to competitors you’ve put things together. Why is that important to your customers? The human brain is built to minimize effort. We rely heavily on what we know, on how we are used to do things and on what we expect them to be. Unfortunately, this means that other people (customers, employees, partners, etc.) aren’t making much of an effort to understand you, your product or your company. As leaders, it is your job to ensure that the company’s purpose is really being heard, so you can have the impact you deserve. That’s what strategy does: It determines what the company’s identity will be, why it will matter, and to whom. Stop thinking about it as a dusty plan sitting on a shelf. Strategy is the beating heart of your company. Most entrepreneurs go through their day in a zombie-like trance, lacking purpose and ultimately causing the contagion of apathy on everyone around them. As a result, many businesses fail due to the consequences of their unintentional actions. Entrepreneurs can learn a great deal from taking preemptive measures to avoid the spread of this infectious self-sabotage. Here are my tips on surviving a contagious zombie outbreak.   Assume everyone is contaminated It is totally acceptable to be paranoid! In today’s connected world, our daily media consumption is such that it has turned...
